I work with high-performing adults who are carrying more than they let on: stress, change, conflict, loss, or simply a sense of being stretched too thin. My approach is calm and practical — we make sense of what you are experiencing and find the next clear step.

About the scope of my work. I offer psychological screening, supportive counselling and BWRT®. This is not clinical psychotherapy or psychiatric treatment, and does not include the diagnosis or treatment of mental health disorders. I work with a network of trusted healthcare professionals and will recommend referral when additional or specialised support would be beneficial.

BrainWorking Recursive Therapy® — a neuroscience-based process for anxiety, phobias, PTSD and more.

A closer look

What is BWRT®?

BrainWorking Recursive Therapy® is a neuroscience-based approach that helps reduce intensity linked to trauma, and assists in forming new neural pathways that shape identity and behaviour change.

It works in a distinctive way: defusing the psychological triggers of a symptom pattern before they reach the part of the brain that activates the emotional response. The symptom is then eased or greatly reduced. The approach mirrors the way the brain acquired the difficulty in the first place, therefore it is an entirely natural process.

You do not have to share intimate details of your life or any event you would rather keep private. As with any psychological approach, outcomes vary from person to person. BWRT® offers a structured methodology that may assist individuals in addressing a range of emotional and behavioural challenges.

Developed by Terence Watts (UK) and refined with South African clinical psychologist Rafiq Lockhat. All practitioners are trained through The Terence Watts BWRT® Institute.

  • Designed to alleviate triggers for the symptom you experience.
  • Three levels — your practitioner helps determine the most suitable for you.
  • Many situations respond well within one to four sessions; some need more.
  • No prolonged investigation into childhood is required.
  • If a symptom may have a medical cause, a medical consultation comes first.
  • Your consent is always obtained, and you can withdraw it at any time.
